SMBC bank created a digital banking platform for “young affluents”, offering them a smarter, more rewarding way to bank. Marketed as a standalone brand in the US, the name had to suggest a savvy approach to banking that was both digital and human.

The name “Jenius” evokes brilliant ideas and human resourcefulness.“

Short and direct. It’s app-friendly without being trendy or techy. The “J” spelling and confident tone signal the brand is a savvy alternative to conventional banks.

Now that’s genius!
