A portal to quality time

Fika coffee and chocolates was poised to grow from a local Swedish success into an international brand. Brand Voice would play a key role in this transition, providing the portal to “quality time” in an “always-on” world. Guided by the mantra “FIKA is the break that breaks the grind”, my team developed a collection of names, stories, posts and signs that provided metaphorical “off ramps” from the day-to-day hustle. The goal was to make Fika synonymous with intentional breaks and interruptions worth savoring.

How we did it

Verbal elements ranged from phrasal variations on “FIKA is a break with…” to snappy commandments, brains teasers and philosophical provocations.

In combination, they prompted people to savor unadulterated moments of quality time.
